For Noah’s birthday, he was given a Smart-e-Bear by his Nana. At first, he really freaked me out – all talking dolls and stuffed animals do. In the end, I decided to put batteries in him and give him a try and it has turned out to be a really good thing.

At first, Noah wasn’t too sure about it. He would listen to “The Cat Came Back” until he fell asleep in Smart-e-Bear’s lap but that’s about it. Then all of a sudden…Noah discovered “Head and Shoulders” and it has become one of his favorite songs. He loves putting his hands on his head and wiggling around with me. Since Smart-e-Bear sings that song (in three languages, plus a bit of a swing beat, no less!) Noah has been paying more attention to him…but I didn’t realize how much. Until tonight, that is.

A few minutes ago, Noah dragged Smart-e-Bear over to me and grunted (he’s very eloquent). It took me a second to realize that he wanted me to turn Smart-e-Bear on but once I did, he started grinning at his dad and giggling at me. I knew exactly what song he wanted me to play because he was putting his hands on his head and wiggling his butt. Cute!

I think it’s played three times since I turned Smart-e-Bear on and I’m sure it will play again. I don’t mind though; this kid is a riot. It’s great.
