I’ve had my LG enV2 for about a month now and I still love it. I was really worried about making a decision about a cellphone when Joshua’s contract came up for renewal but he needed a new phone and mine…well, it would have lasted another two years but who doesn’t like new toys?

I really thought that the Samsung Sway would be my choice in the end. I love Samsungs and my last three or four phones have been Samsungs. LG is really more of Joshua’s brand.

And yet…when he got his enV2 in the mail, I found that I kept wanting to play with it. Every time I thought, “okay, I’ll get the Sway,” something changed my mind. Unfortunately, the Sway was free at Walmart and the enV2 was not, and I was not about to spend $30 on a phone when I could buy Noah a swim diaper (see, my priorities are perfectly straight, tyvm). And of course, the day after he upgraded his line, Verizon added a BOGO for the enV2 on their website! So, I tried to convince myself that I still liked the Sway better but Joshua convinced me that it would only be like paying $15 per phone.

But! My husband, the brilliant man that he is, called Verizon and talked them into honoring the sale for us anyway. This meant that I couldn’t get my phone the same day because it had to come in the mail but it did mean that we wouldn’t spend a dime on it. It came in two days later and I have *loved* it ever since.

I’ll update in about six months to see if there are any issues and then again at a year but I anticipate this phone lasting me the full two years. It feels sturdy, looks pretty and works great. I’m definitely thrilled with it. Second best Mother’s Day gift <del>ever</del> for now!

Can you believe that I hadn’t seen Annie until tonight? Really! I had seen clips when it was on at school or at someone’s house but I’ve never really just sat down and watched the movie from beginning to end…until tonight. We were looking for a movie that Noah might enjoy too (and he did – he danced his tush off whenever the girls were singing) and saw that Annie was on Netflix’s Watch Instantly.

I loved it. I mean sure, there are plot holes and it just kind of resolves itself suddenly but that’s not really what the movie is about, is it? It’s an adorable, heart-warming musical made for the family…and set in one of my favorite time periods of American history, to boot.

What made it even better was that once Noah had his fill of cute girls and music (hahahaha), he went to sleep, so Joshua and I got to watch it all snuggled up. That’s a rarity for us, now that Noah is a full blown toddler that likes to get into everything. It was pleasant, in that “I’m so content I could purr like a kitten” way. *sighs happily*

You know you’re a mom when you look forward to a pap smear so you can read a book. Joshua is actually really good about letting me read and I also keep a book in the bathroom for “those times” (and yes, I’m one of “those” people) but nonetheless, a good, uninterrupted book is hard to come by.

I’m re-reading Memoirs of a Geisha. It’s such a good book… full of emotion and wonderful language and interesting stories. I really get wrapped up in Sayuri’s story and thoughts. I find it so silly that I spent so long avoiding this book because I thought it wasn’t my type but I was so wrong. If you are interested in Japan, geisha, or memoirs, definitely consider reading it.

Anyway, Nublet has done really well today. Usually he has a hard time letting me leave the room but he played with his dad the entire time I was at my appointment. Apparently he didn’t even want to be in the playroom at first…just wanted to cuddle daddy. That’s my boy!

We got to see his Nana at Burger King today too, where she treated us to lunch. (Thanks Nana!) This kid loooves fries. Do NOT get between him and his fries! He’s also really big on feeding people right now so he kept sticking his finger in the zesty sauce and then sticking it in her mouth. Mmm, slimy sweet.

The darn cat is outside howling again. Our neighborhood stray has been outside of our window for days, howling for…something. He usually has a gray play mate running around with him but I haven’t seen her around for a few while (but Joshua says he has, so I’m not worried.) His howls sound so much like Omega’s that it really breaks my heart…I can’t believe that so much time has gone by since we rehomed him.

However, Joshua and I agreed that I don’t get to pick cats to like anymore. With the exception of Kibou, they’ve all been loud talkers. I have a particular fondness for this orange tabby and of course, he ends up being a Howler, just like Omega. It’s just my luck.
